About the Magazine

Samia Magazine

Rather right
than first.

Samia Magazine is the long-form magazine of Samia Studios. Four sections, essays of 1,500 to 4,000 words, every claim sourced, every correction logged in public. The first issue opens in January 2027.

سامية

The name

Elevated.
Sublime.

Samia (سامية) means elevated, sublime. The mark is an S with a star cut from its heart: the light at the centre of everything the house makes. Samia Studios is a media and education house and a Jahangiri Enterprises company.

The Magazine was called the Journal while it was being planned. The name changed in November 2026; the standard did not.

The house signs its work the same way everywhere: Made by people.

The standard

What every piece
is held to.

The house standards live on the parent site, with the corrections policy and how to complain. These are the parts a Magazine reader should know by heart.

01

Read by an editor

For structure and clarity, never to change the argument. The writer sees the final page before it goes live, and nothing is published until both say yes.

02

Checked by a second reader

Every factual claim is checked against its source by someone other than the writer and the editor. The log is published with the piece, claim by claim.

03

Corrected in public

Corrections are logged on the piece with the date. Write to [email protected]; a person reads it, and the writer is asked before any change to their text.

Who makes it, who pays

People,
and plain money.

Two questions every magazine should answer on its about page, in one paragraph each.

Who makes it

Samia Studios edits and publishes the Magazine. Every piece names its writer, with a two-sentence bio and their sources. People write, edit, draw and check every page; nothing on the shelf is generated.

Who pays

Samia Studios pays for the Magazine. There are no advertisers today. If that changes, advertising will be labelled as advertising, and it will never buy coverage, a kind word, or the removal of a correction.

Issue 01 · January 2027

Be there
when it starts.

One email when Issue 01 opens, then a note when a new piece is published. Nothing else.
